Please contact me by email, provide your contact information, and I will be happy to provide you a free phone consultation to help guide you in the right direction and help you get started. Consultations for Parents, Schools, and other Professionals: I consult with parents and educators to create programs for children integrating an understanding of their needs and my experience building a working team of parents, schools and other professionals. I stress a team approach based upon a shared understanding of the child’s strengths and challenges and a commitment to helping the child experience success. I help parents navigate the education system and guide them to local resources to obtain the services their child needs. As a parent, I know that advocating for your child can be hard work and overwhelming. Evaluations and testing can be confusing. I explain the evaluations and help you understand your rights in the special education system. I am available to prepare and support you as you participate in Committee of Special Education (CSE) meetings which are often emotional and intimidating. I encourage a strong school-parent alliance. A partnership is crucial to the success of this process. As a psychologist specialized in this area, I focus on helping all parties involved understand how a child’s learning difference can impact him or her academically, emotionally, socially, and behaviorally Training for School Professionals: I provide in-service training to school staff, including general education and special education teachers, administrators, school psychologists and nurses, and support staff. The range of topics includes Tourette Syndrome and associated disorders such as OCD, ADHD, Dysgraphia, Executive Dysfunction, Sensory Processing Disorder, Anxiety, and other Learning Disabilities. I focus on how these disorders can challenge and impact children at school. I always stress pragmatic strategies that can be used in the classroom or school setting. Community Education: I have lectured to PTAs and other professional organizations such as the Tourette Syndrome Association-NY Hudson Valley Chapter, and Parents and Professionals Advocating for Children (PAPAS). I was a featured guest speaker on WFAS radio show “Living With Tourette Syndrome” Topic of talks for community groups and PTAs have included:
I regularly contribute to Education and Advocacy newsletters. My writing focuses on increasing community awareness of special needs and informing and educating teachers and parents about social and emotional development in both typical and special needs children. My articles are in newsletters such as The Education Bulletin of the Tourette Syndrome Association-NY Hudson Valley Chapter, and The PAPAS Bulletin (Parents and Professionals Advocating for Students). Support Services: I conduct a monthly support group for parents of children with Tourette Syndrome and associated disorders.

I am writing a book about the emotional challenges parents face while raising a special needs child. My book focuses on what you as a parent need, your emotional experiences, and how you can survive and even thrive in this demanding parenting role.
I would really like to hear your perspective on parenting a special needs child. If you would like to contribute by sharing YOUR experiences, please complete this Special Needs survey. To complete the survey CLICK HERE
Your responses are confidential, but I may choose to excerpt some of your shared wisdom and quote you in my book! (Any identifying data would be removed or changed, of course). As a parent of special needs children myself, I know that your spare time is valuable. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. Thank you in advance for sharing your parenting experiences with me.
